Glassware: Cocktail
Ingredients:
- 2 oz. Gin
- ¾ oz. Honey Syrup
- ½ oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
To Serve: Shake all the ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
This drink can also be served in a highball glass over ice.
Brazen Hussy
Glassware: Cocktail
Ingredients:
- 1 oz. Vodka
- 1 oz. Cointreau Orange Liqueur (or Triple Sec)
- ½ oz. Lemon Juice
To Serve: Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice. Shake and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Cuba Libre
Glassware: Highball or Collins
Ingredients:
- 2 oz. Light Rum
- Coca-Cola
- Lime wedge
To Serve: Pour rum into an highball glass filled with ice. Top with cola and juice from lime wedge. Garnish with lime wedge.
About: The Cuba Libre (“Free Cuba”) was originated after the Spanish-American War by a group of American soldiers to toast the freedom of Cuba.
Dark & Stormy
Glassware: Highball
Ingredients:
- 2 oz. Dark Rum (Recommended: Gosling’s Black Seal)
- 3-4 oz. Ginger Beer
- Lime wedge for garnish is desired
To Serve: Build the ingredients in a highball glass filled with ice. Garnish with lime wedge.
About: Layering the ingredients is key to enjoying the flavors of this delicious cocktail.
Gin Daisy
Glassware: Old-Fashioned
Ingredients:
- 2 oz. Gin
- 1 oz. Lemon Juice
- ½ tsp. Superfine Sugar
- ½ tsp. Grenadine
- 1 Maraschino Cherry
- 1 Orange Slice
To Serve: In a shaker half filled with ice, combine gin, lemon juice, sugar and grenadine. Shake well and pour into an old-fashioned glass filled with ice. Garnish with cherry and orange slice.
A splash of soda water can also be added to this cocktail.
About: The “Daisy” first appeared in America in the 1850s. There are several variations of “daisy” recipes and all are typically served in a old-fashioned glass.
Grasshopper
Glassware: Cocktail
Ingredients:
- ¾ oz. cream
- ¾ oz. Crème de Cacao
- ¾ oz. Crème de Menthe
To Serve: Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
A Thin Mint makes an excellent garnish for this delicious cocktail – it is the perfect dessert!
Italian Stinger
Glassware: Cocktail
Ingredients:
- 1 ¾ oz. Galliano
- ¾ oz. Crème de Menthe
To Serve: Pour ingredients into cocktail shaker filled with ice. Strain into cocktail glass. Brandy can be a substitute for either the Galliano or the Crème de Menthe.
About: The Italian Stinger was created in the 1920s, but it became famous during the Prohibition because the Crème de Menthe helped mask the taste of counterfeit liquor.
Kir Royale
Glassware: Wine or Champagne
Ingredients:
- ¼ oz. Crème de Cassis
- 2 ¼ oz. Dry White Wine or Champagne
To Serve: Pour the Crème de Cassis in the glass. Slowly add the wine/champagne.
About: This drink is named after Felix Kir, mayor of Dijon in Burgandy, but was originally created in 1841 (it was called blanc-cass). Still a popular drink in France, the Crème de Cassis is often substituted with Crème de Mure or Crème de Peche.
Tom Collins
Glassware: Collins
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ oz. Gin
- ½ oz. sugar syrup
- 1 oz. lemon juice
- Club soda
- 1 maraschino cherry
- 1 lemon or orange slice
To Serve: Pour the gin, lemon juice and sugar syrup in a Collins glass filled with ice and stir thoroughly. Add club soda and garnish with cherry and orange/lemon slice.
Zombie
Glassware: Collins or Hurricane
Ingredients:
- 1 oz. Apricot Brandy or Cherry Brandy
- 1 oz. Light Rum
- 1 oz. Dark or Jamaican Rum
- 1 oz. Lime Juice
- 2 dashes Grenadine
- 1 oz. 151 Proof Rum
- Orange Juice/Pineapple Juice
- Maraschino Cherry
- Orange Slice
To Serve: Mix light and dark rum and brandy in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Add lime juice and grenadine. Shake well and strain into Collins or hurricane glass filled with ice. Add pineapple/orange juice and float 151 proof rum on top. Garnish with cherry and orange slice.
About: The Zombie first appeared in the 1930s and was invented by Donn Beach, but it became popular after the 1939 New York World Fair.
Sake Stinger
Glassware: Cocktail
Ingredients:
- 1 oz. Sake
- ½ oz. White creme de menthe or peppermint schnapps
- ½ oz. California brandy
- Lemon peel
To Serve: Shake sake, creme de menthe, and brandy well with ice. Strain into cocktail glass. Twist lemon peel above drink and drop into drink.
